The Blockchain Professor
Professor Roman Beck is known as one of the leading researchers on Blockchain and DLT systems and in the media, he has been referred to as the “Blockchain Professor”. His publications in the emerging field have contributed to the opening of the research area and his insights are valued by governments and industry, both nationally and internationally; Roman Beck represents Denmark at the European Blockchain Partnership in Brussels and is as convenor at ISO in charge of writing a standard on Blockchain governance, as well as at UNECE on interoperability. Furthermore, he is appointed expert on the subject by OECD.
At the IT-University of Copenhagen, Roman Beck is teaching Blockchain economics and strategic leadership courses at graduate, executive and PhD level for which he is also ranked internationally as one of the top academics. However, he was very pleased to learn about his new presence on the two rankings:
– While rankings have their pros and cons and only provide a snapshot taking a limited number of performance indicators into account, it is certainly a nice recognition of the achievements for my research group and me, he says and continues: – Being mentioned more often in international rankings helps signalling that ITU is a strong research place, and it is a nice confirmation for us at ITU that we are on the right track. This is also important for our PhD students and PostDocs as well as our junior academics who want to know that they are at the right place to start their career, and that they are working with the right people.
