PhD Course 2018: Blockchain Economics in Theory and Practice

ITU Professor Roman Beck (Head of the European Blockchain Center) will teach an online four-day PhD course on “Blockchain Economics in Theory and Practice” in Fall 2018, hosted in Frankfurt by the VHB.

This course will teach students how blockchain works and how this technology can transform existing business models.

PhD students will develop conceptual and practical blockchain solutions, as well as gain insights on how blockchain technology can economy and organisations.

Learning outcome
— Identify new research opportunities within the field of leading edge technology
— Understand how blockchain technology can affect and interact with current research interests
— Conduct interdisciplinary work with partners that apply scientific methods on existing problems
— Critically reflect on their own PhD research in the light of emerging blockchain research and to generate theoretical and academically sound insights
— Write a paper addressing blockchain technology

The course will grant 6 ECTS.
